CRISTY in this moment
How would you describe this moment in your life right now?
At the precipice of CHANGE; integrating loss and sorrow with the wisdom of experience and enjoying sharing that through teaching movement and sound while also deeply wanting more creative expression through the modalities I used to do in my former life as a performing Broadway diva….how to weave the artist into every aspect….
What phase of life are you in, & how do you think your age affects your thoughts, your feelings, your decisions?
I’m in my elder phase! (that’s what the young dancers call it!). My age and seasoned body understand subtle nuances and sensitivity beyond the visible where I am able to access an energetic current that helps me be acutely aware of feelings, impulses, intention and spirit.
What’s the last thing you thought of before you went to bed last night?
Relaxing my body head to toe (I listen to a guided meditation every night!
The first thing you thought of upon waking this morning?
Cuddling with my dogs might be my version of Heaven.
What have you been working on / playing with / scheming this last week?
Discovering new music and making new playlists, dreaming about making a sound album, puttering with a little writing, fantasizing about a new home sanctuary for retreats, healing my body through stretching and rest.
If you were to use only three words to describe your current creations, what would they be?
Playful, joyful, spiritual.
What early experience or influence on you is still very much alive for you today in your way of living or in your work?
Rearranging all my furniture gives me great joy and I used to do this as a kid.
What is something you’re trying to let go of right now, & how is that going?
My attachment to my beloved dog in her physical form. The process is rocky!
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I performed at the United Nations and The Kennedy Center at age 12.
