25hours Hotel INDRE BY
COPENHAGEN
Text & Images by Alice Kuo Shippee
Martin Brudnizki designed the hotel in a building that was formerly a porcelain factory, a printing works, a paper mill—& housed the studies of law & theology for Copenhagen University. All these manifestations inspired the many layers & personas in the spaces of the hotel. Read more about how he & GM Lisa Egnenius approached the whole design process below at Scandinavian MIND:
The cheekiness begins at the door with the coy greeting on the doormat.
Coffee or cocktail? Or both? All delicious at the Assembly Bar in the center of the gorgeous atrium.
The luscious lounge with the almost hidden sex theme. There's no minimum age restriction, but your kids might have some questions.
Oh, such a beautiful installation, especially for the bibliophiles. Curious why so many copies of a novel about werewolves?
The gift shop definitely caters to tourists who want to know more about the Scandi ways: hygge & crockery & other cozy gifts.
A place after my heart with the vintage typewriters.
More cheekiness in the gift shop drink section.
The passionate tastes of the Red Room.
The eclectic atrium with a mixture of textiles & colors, layered with pattern.
A little Helmut Newton on the coffee table.
The Vinyl Lounge is a perfect place to kick back & wait out a rainy day.
Never knew an intersection of restroom humor and Vikings could be so perfect.
More color & pattern in the atrium.
Hotels & Homes for Nomads--a perfect match.
Quite possibly my favorite public bathroom in the whole world. I didn't even know I could have a favorite public restroom, but that's what Copenhagen does to you.
A little sketch left by a guest.
And plants are their own layer of design.
